The restoration of Veteran Solider Mr. William Alexander Hogg, a member of the Canadian Forces during The Great War.
Within the forest of Anyox lays to rest a Soldier from The Great War, Veteran Soldier Mr. William Alexander Hogg, Born in Belfast Ireland in 1884, died June 20, 1925. Mr.Hoggs chose Anyox as his home after The Great War.
His Memorial site was honoured this past summer with the support of the Canadian Rangers and their youth program. During the summer of 2021 the Anyox Cemetery received a makeover thanks to the help of the Canadian Rangers and Dolly Varden Resources, our neighbours to the north up at Alice Arm. Dolly Varden donated both local manpower and a helicopter to remove a number of problem trees from the cemetery that threatened to ruin several of the gravesites.
Below are before and after photos that illustrate some of the work done.
